Get the Climate FAQs is designed to assist people to become more knowledgeable about climate change.
On August 9, 2021, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change ("IPCC"), released a report titled "Assessment Report 6 Climate Change 2021: The Physical Science Basis". The IPCC is the body of the United Nations whose mandate is to assess objective and independent science reports on climate change. The IPCC is composed of 195 member states and the report represents the consensus of more than 200 scientists globally.
We are also providing links to the Frequently Asked Questions ("FAQs") published by the IPCC: a glossary, the 2018 "Global Warming of 1.5°C" Report, the 2019 Reports on Climate Change and Land FAQs and Special Report on the Ocean and Cryosphere in a Changing Climate.
We found it surprisingly difficult to be able to understand all aspects of the full IPCC Report and looked for a more accessible version. We found it in the "Frequently Asked Questions" (FAQs). Although the FAQs documents are still lengthy, they are written in much plainer language and are easily digestible.
