A campaign to become aware about the basics of climate change.
With the release of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change ("IPCC"), report titled "Assessment Report 6 Climate Change 2021: The Physical Science Basis", many people are looking to get more educated on climate change. Follow the steps on getting involved in the #GetTheClimate FAQs campaign below:
1. Read the IPCC's Assessment Report 6 Climate Change 2021: The Physical Science Basis and the Frequently Asked Questions ("FAQs") of the Special Report on Global Warming of 1.5°C(2018) at the Get the Climate FAQs tab. We have also provided links to:
2. Share this page and challenge your friends, family, and colleagues to also participate.
3. Share one thing that you learned about the IPCC Reports on social media/blog posts using the hashtag #GetTheClimateFAQs.
4. Once you've read the report and the FAQs, your participation can be counted by going to the "Count Yourself In" tab.
Our world is changing dramatically. We believe it is imperative to broaden engagement on the critical issue of climate change and to start thinking strategically on how we can change our systems toward creating a better future. We believe an important step is to just learn the facts.
We designed this website and campaign to assist people to become more knowledgeable about climate change and to consider actions we might take. The reports show the world is way off track in its efforts to meet the targets set forth in the United Nations' Paris Agreement of November 2016, but many of us may not have a full grasp of what that means.
Issues around climate change have been on the radar of scientists and environmentalists around the globe for decades, but it only recently many of us are becoming motivated to get a better understanding of the issues. This campaign is designed to assist non-scientists to obtain some clear information easily.
The UN Special Report, “Global Warming of 1.5°C,” was published October 8, 2018 by the IPCC. The report answers the questions:
We found it surprisingly difficult to be able to understand all aspects of the IPCC Report and looked for a more accessible version of the Report. We found it in the IPCC's FAQs. Although the FAQs document is still 24 pages long, it is written in a much plainer language and is easily digestible.
The updated report was released on August 9, 2021. The FAQs about that report can also be found in the Get the Climate FAQs tab.
